Exterior trim material estimator
Soffit & Fascia Calculator
Estimate soffit panel area, fascia board length, stock pieces, waste, and rough material cost from eave and rake measurements. Built for roof-edge trim ordering before the supplier run.
Exterior trim needs product-specific layout
Ventilation requirements, panel orientation, J-channel, frieze details, rake returns, rot repair, gutter removal, and manufacturer coverage can change the final order.

Soffit and fascia formula
Soffit area = eave length × soffit depth × eave runs
Soffit panels = soffit area × (1 + waste %) ÷ panel coverage
Fascia length = eave length × eave runs + rake length
Fascia boards = fascia length × (1 + waste %) ÷ stock board length
Sample takeoff
Two 40 ft eaves with 2 ft soffit depth, 16 ft² panel coverage, 24 ft of rake fascia, and 10% waste need about 11 soffit panels and 10 twelve-foot fascia boards.
Soffit & Fascia Calculator FAQ
How does this soffit and fascia calculator work?+
It multiplies measured job dimensions by the coverage, spacing, or package yield you enter, adds waste, then rounds the buy quantity up. Match the panel coverage, vented/unvented mix, and board stock length to the product you plan to buy.
Should I use the default waste value?+
Use the default for a quick planning estimate, then raise it for cuts, odd layouts, breakage, bad access, or product-specific loss.
Is this a bid or code approval?+
No. It is a material planning calculator. Verify product data, local code, structural requirements, electrical requirements, and supplier packaging before ordering or building.
