Floor protection roll formula
Order area = protected area × (1 + waste %)
Rolls = order area ÷ roll coverage
Tape length = rounded rolls × tape per roll allowance
Tape rolls = tape length ÷ tape roll length
Sample takeoff
A 1,200 ft² remodel area with 10% waste and 317 ft² protection rolls needs about five rolls. At 50 ft of tape per protection roll, plan about two tape rolls.
Ram Board Calculator FAQ
How many rolls of Ram Board do I need?+
Divide the protected floor area plus waste by the coverage printed on the roll, then round up to whole rolls.
How much tape should I buy?+
A quick planning method is to budget a seam-tape allowance for every protection roll, then divide by the tape roll length.
Can I use this for any floor protection brand?+
Yes if you enter that product coverage and tape details. Always check product limits for finished floors, moisture, adhesive, and duration.
