Concrete mix material estimator
Concrete Mix Calculator
Estimate cement bags, sand volume, gravel volume, waste, and rough material cost from a target concrete volume and a simple mix ratio. Use it for small non-engineered pours, repair batches, and planning calls before a supplier quote.
Concrete mix is not structural design
This calculator estimates ingredients from a simple parts ratio. Strength, slump, water-cement ratio, admixtures, reinforcement, exposure, code, and engineered mix design must be verified for slabs, footings, structural work, and inspected pours.

Concrete mix formula
Dry batch volume = target concrete volume × dry-volume factor × (1 + waste %)
Cement volume = dry batch volume × cement parts ÷ total parts
Sand volume = dry batch volume × sand parts ÷ total parts
Gravel volume = dry batch volume × gravel parts ÷ total parts
Cement bags = cement volume ÷ bag yield
Sample takeoff
For 1 yd³ of concrete at a 1:2:3 ratio, 1.54 dry-volume factor, 5% waste, and 0.035 yd³ cement-bag yield, plan about 8 cement bags, 0.54 yd³ of sand, and 0.81 yd³ of gravel.
Concrete Mix Calculator FAQ
How do I calculate concrete mix quantities?+
Convert the target concrete volume into dry batch volume, split it by the ratio parts, then divide the cement volume by bag yield.
What does a 1:2:3 concrete mix mean?+
It is a simple parts ratio: one part cement, two parts sand, and three parts gravel by volume. The correct mix for structural work must come from the plan, supplier, or code requirements.
Can this replace ready-mix design?+
No. Use it for planning small batches and material conversations only. Ordered concrete and inspected structural work need product data and engineered mix requirements.
