Concrete finish material estimator
Concrete Sealer Calculator
Estimate concrete sealer gallons, pails, coated area, waste, and rough material cost from slab, patio, walkway, or driveway area. Use product-label coverage for the final buy list.
Sealer coverage depends on the slab and product
Porosity, surface profile, moisture, broom finish, solvent or water base, recoat window, temperature, and product instructions can change coverage. This is a material estimate, not an application specification.

Concrete sealer formula
Coated area = surface area × coats
Order coverage = coated area × (1 + waste %)
Gallons = order coverage ÷ coverage per gallon
Pails = gallons ÷ pail size
Sample takeoff
A 600 ft² driveway, two coats, 250 ft² per gallon coverage, and 10% waste needs about 5.3 gallons, so two 5-gallon pails cover the job.
Concrete Sealer Calculator FAQ
How many gallons of concrete sealer do I need?+
Multiply surface area by the number of coats, add waste for porosity and overlap, then divide by the coverage printed on the sealer label.
Should I use one coat or two coats?+
Use the product instructions. Some sealers call for one heavy coat, while others use two thin coats with a recoat window.
Does this calculate curing or prep time?+
No. It only estimates sealer quantity. Cure time, cleaning, etching, moisture checks, and application temperature must come from the product label.
