Concrete sealer formula

Coated area = surface area × coats

Order coverage = coated area × (1 + waste %)

Gallons = order coverage ÷ coverage per gallon

Pails = gallons ÷ pail size

Sample takeoff

A 600 ft² driveway, two coats, 250 ft² per gallon coverage, and 10% waste needs about 5.3 gallons, so two 5-gallon pails cover the job.

Concrete Sealer Calculator FAQ

How many gallons of concrete sealer do I need?+

Multiply surface area by the number of coats, add waste for porosity and overlap, then divide by the coverage printed on the sealer label.

Should I use one coat or two coats?+

Use the product instructions. Some sealers call for one heavy coat, while others use two thin coats with a recoat window.

Does this calculate curing or prep time?+

No. It only estimates sealer quantity. Cure time, cleaning, etching, moisture checks, and application temperature must come from the product label.
